The Massive Retailer Dick’s Sporting Goods Will be removing All Firearms & Hunting Gear from 125 Under under performing Stores, do to sales decrease.

The Removing of all Firearms & Hunting Gear, is taking place after the Large Retailer banned high capacity magazines and “Assault Weapons” in 2018. This was after the Florida school shooting in Parkland Florida. Dick’s also decided to stop selling Firearms to anyone under the age of 21, Which caused them some legal troubles.

Reports from Bloomberg stated that the continued sales decline has lead to a decrease in shares. The “falling close to 11%, which is the most since August 2017, to $34.45 in New York trading.” The Stock was up 25% this year through Monday 3-18-19. Dick’s has 729 store, plus 35 hunting and fishing based Field and Stream stores!

Multiple News Reports, 125 underperforming stores will cause the removing of all Firearms & Hunting Gear, which totals almost 17% of the stores locations. This New Decision will be starting in August, coming form the Dicks Chief Executive officer Ed Stack on Tuesday 3-19-19.

Dick’s had a trial run of replacing all of the firearms and Hunting gear. They replaced them with products like kayaks and teams sporting gear in 10-stores! The successful trial would expand the decision to potentially all Dick’s Sporting Good Stores!

Dicks Wass one of the top vendors for Hunting gear and firearms, but due to the decrease in sales and the industry, they have decided to replace the hunting gear & Guns.

The National Rifle Association and The National Shooting sports Foundation have really been showing their disappointment in the decision of Dick’s Sporting Goods. On the other end, gun control groups are showing the appreciation and support for the change!
