Whitetail Deer Hunts

Ohio offers some of the best whitetail deer hunting in the World. When you’re on the hunt for Big Trophy Bucks it doesn’t get any better than hunting at FeatherNett Outfitters.

Our Property has fair-chase Deer, Semi-guided hunts for some of the largest free-ranging deer on the Earth. As we all know, in the Deer Woods NOTHING is guaranteed. We will always give our best efforts to give you the Best Opportunity, but sometimes things don’t go as planned. With that being said, we can all agree that when the moment of truth comes and you 10-ring the Heart, and successfully harvest your Trophy Whitetail the feeling is much more exhilarating than anything!

Size Requirements

We know that deer hunters, like deer, are not the same. Individual standards may vary, but our goal for clients is to harvest MATURE deer. With this, a 125-inch antler minimum is recommended on our farm. If you are a first time guest we will not penalize you because, we want to see you take what makes you happy, but for those returning we want to set the bar a little higher this Year for you!

Shooting a substandard buck will result in a $250 fine. Only by FeatherNett Outfitters discresion will some leeway be considered. This fine is not about making money from our customers; it’s about growing the kind of bucks our customers want to harvest. We would be happiest if nobody were ever fined.

With that said, each year, our farms hold a few fully-mature bucks whose antlers do not reach the 125” requirement. Some are simply smart, old warriors who’ve survived over the years and are on the decline antlerwise. Others may be genetically inferior to our management goals. Our guides will inform hunters of the presence of these management bucks, in which they are welcome to harvest without penalty. Rememmber, a mature buck is the goal!

The exceptions: We do NOT impose antler restrictions for our YOUTH hunters. Shoot what makes them happy and what makes them fall in Love with the sport!

Terrain

The terrain here is different than most Properties. Here, we have a property that was striped for coal. While there are hard woods, the majority of the property is Covered with CRP, which makes great for bedding areas for the deer. There are no agriculture fields on the property or around the property, this is why our food-plots THRIVE with deer! Our Bait stations and Food-plots really concentrate the deer to those specific areas. We have strategically placed our food-plots near the major bedding areas!

The property is covered by ladder stands, box blinds, ground blinds, and Lock-on treesetands! All are hung 18-25ft in the air! We believe this will improve our hunters success rate as they will be hidden and scent will be harder to detect!

We feel that it is very important to keep you comfortable in the stand. After all, the longer you can sit and enjoy the hunt, the better your chances are of harvesting the big one.

We have ground Blind set-ups so that we can accommodate any handicapped hunters, as well as the ability to drive right to them on our ATVs. All stands and blinds are situated in proven areas.

We bait most of our stand locations with shelled corn, whether or not they’re near crops or food plots. Feeders are scheduled to run 30 minutes after sunrise and two hours before sunset. This helps ensure that each hunter will see plenty of whitetail deer.

That is why we will do whatever it takes, while staying within the law, to help you get your buck in the back of your truck.

Our Week will begin with your Arrival on Sunday, unless you are hunting opening week, youth weekend, or extended gun weekend. We will be able to take you for a nice tour of the property lines. We will Mark the Property with FeatherNett Outdoors signs. With it being Semi-Guided Hunts we will show you the best spots to target our Mature Bucks, and the rest is going to be determined on you! We will make sure that you feel comfortable with the property and give you the tools and resources to succeed at FeatherNett Outfitters!
