By getting the proper Extremely cold weather Hunting gear, you will be able to hunt all day in freezing temperatures!

I Promise that there is a better way to hunting in the winter, and I over came this by diving into some research and some clothes to keep me warm!

The 9-Pieces of Extremely Cold weather Hunting Gear for Winter will show you everything that you need to stay warm this winter!

1. Base Layer

This is the start of containing your bodies heat. If you strategically layer yourself, you will have no troubles keeping warm in winters harshest conditions. With my base layer, I will have 2-3 articles/layers of clothing. This clothing consists of tighter under armor materials. I like a thick insulate that stays tight to my body, but not so tight that its uncomfortable.  Having my base layer tight to my body will allow me to wear more clothes comfortably If needed. Personally I have never needed more than 2-layers for a base layer, but some people get cold easier than others! Below are some base layers that will keep you very warm when hunting in Extremely cold weather!

The Hec Base-Layer

  • 3-Peice Suit Includes – one long-sleeved top with quarter-zip neck, one pair of bottoms which features a HECS branded elastic waistband and a usable fly, and one lightweight head cover in Mossy Oak Country. 100% machine washable, tumble dry.
  • Combine comfort with Concealment – An Electrically conductive carbon grid is woven into the high-performance wicking base layer fabric to ensure you remain as undetectable as possible without sacrificing any comfort for extended periods of time.
  • Scientifically Proven – EMF blocking garments have been studied extensively for years and it’s been successfully concluded that HECS Stealthscreen material makes a human less detectable and allows hunters to get 69-75% closer to an animal.
  • Make Your Hunting Experience Great! – The concept of electrical energy shielding is revolutionary and underestimated. Check our industry leading products such as camouflage suits, hats, gloves, and socks to see the difference HECS technology makes!

2. Mid Layer

The mid-layer mainly consists of thicker long-sleeves, sweatshirts, and sometimes lighter coats. I only put another 2-3 layers on here, depending on the weather conditions. It is important to strategically layer yourself here, because this is where a lot of hunters will lose their body heat! I always put the tighter long-sleeves on first, and then I will put the loose sweatshirts on top of those. If it is extremely cold outside I will put on a light hunting jacket last. Below I have provided you with some awesome Mid-layer clothing!

3. Coat

The coat is going to be one of the most important layers. You will want a coat that is waterproof, wind proof, and maybe one with multiple layers of insulate. You will also want a coat that has some warm pockets or you can invest in getting some nice hand warmers! Most of the time your coat is going to be your last layer, unless the temperatures are below 20-degrees, then you will need the additional outer-layer which is down below! Its is very important to keep any water or wind off of your body when you are hunting in extremely cold hunting conditions! If you can get something that has those feature, then I can promise you will stay very warm in your stand.

4. Boots

For all of the people who have to get out of the stand early because their feet are freezing off will agree when I say “Get a very warm pair of Boots.” I would suggest some 3,000-grain Boots that are water proof. It is very important to make sure you don’t get your feet wet walking to the stand, because if you do you might as well start walking back to the truck because you won’t last a 3-4hr hunt. Below I will link some of the best winter hunting boots!

5. Hat

Pay close attention! A hat can be your best friend when hunting in the extremely cold winter weather. Think about how much head comes off of your head…ALOT! If you can get a hat or two and keep that heat contained, you will stay nice and comfortable when in your stand! I like having a tight toboggan and then one thicker hat to go over top of it. Below I will show you some of my favorite Winter Hunting Hats.

6. Outer layer

The Outer layer is mostly used when the temperatures are below 20-degrees. This is going to consist of an extra coat, some overalls, or some kind of a heating suit. We will include some of these outer-layer products down below for you. This is going to be your last line of concealment, this is going to trap the remaining heat from your body. I prefer something that has pockets or allows me to keep my hands out of the cold. Here are some Outer layer Products:

7. Socks

Socks can play a very important role in keeping you warm. I would say having a great pair of hunting boots like the ones listed earlier, is more important. I still like to have some thick wool socks or some additional insulate to add into my boot for additional warmth. Sometimes I will wear up to 3-pair of these socks to ensure that my feet are warm. Below I will show you my favorite socks!

8. Facemask

A facemask can give you some additional comfort when in the stand. A facemask will keep the cold air off of you, especially if the wind is blowing at all. I like a facemask that is breathable, and one that covers my neck. If It doesn’t cover your neck, then I suggest a scarf of some sort to cover your neck. Your Neck also gives off a lot of heat, and it is a sensitive place especially to the cold air when hunting. Below I have listed out some of my favorite Facemasks for Hunting in the cold weather.

9. Gloves

Hunting gloves are the most popular, but on my list they are last, because If I have a good coat with some warm pockets then I don’t really need gloves. Granted gloves can be more convenient and keep your hands warmer. Most of the time when I wear gloves, I cut the tip of my trigger finger off so I can get a better feel for the trigger to release when shooting. Another alternative is getting some hand warmers!

Below I have listed my favorite hunting gloves.

EXTRA STEPS TO WARMTH

Here are some additional ways to stay warm in the winter weather when hunting:

  • Hunting from a Ground or Box Blind, yes I know not everyone has the money to get these items, but if you do get one I suggest getting a small portable heater and have that baby running while you’re hunting!

  • Buy some of the little hand warmer packs to put in your hand warmers while hunting. I also like to keep some in my boots for a little extra warmth. There are also heat pads for your body that you can put on before your base layer of clothes. Here are some additional warming options.
