220 7/8” Ohio Giant

Potential Perry County Record For FeatherNett Outdoors Team Member Ethan Featheroff!

Ethan Featheroff Started getting trail camera photos of this once in a lifetime buck in July. He knew that the deer was going to be something special, so he surrounded the property with trail cameras and watched this Giant grow into this 220 7/8” Monster. Ethan was able to find the bed of this deer and set up accordingly.

Ethan kept this deer a family and friends secret. He didn’t want to take any chances of having that deer run off the property (Very Smart). Ethan made sure to stay out of the area to prevent pressuring the deer of a lifetime.

The week before the Ohio opening day Ethan checked his cameras and saw that this buck was a regular during the daylight hours. He knew that he had to move in on this buck quickly. Electing not to hunt the deer on opening morning. He went out with another FeatherNett Team member: Noah Barnett to do some early season doe management. He filmed his opening morning partner shoot a doe.

When 2pm rolled around Ethan knew it was time. Very quietly and strategically he walked into his set and waited for the life changing hunt to start.

5:30pm rolled around and he noticed movement in the field, and it was the 150″ (estimated) main frame 8pt that has been hanging out with this monster. With the temptation of this buck broadside at 30-yards Ethan elected to pass this High Caliber deer.

5:35pm the longest 5 minutes of Ethans life took place as he was watching this monster 8pt walk right past him, he saw the deer that he had been obsessed with all summer long. This deer is walking straight out towards Ethan. Ethan tried to get this deer on film, but he wasn’t taking any risks of messing up this opportunity. The deer gave him a 35-yard quartering away shot and Ethan put the smack down on this deer with a perfect heart shot.

The deer ran 35 yards and crashed just inside the woods. Ethans summer obsession just became a reality as a deer of his dreams just walked into his life over summer and completed this Perry county Hunters Dreams. With 20 scorable points, it scored 220 7/8” a Potential Perry County Record.

We are proud of Ethan and all of the time and dedication he put into this deer. We are Proud to have him at FeatherNett Outdoors. Ethan Elected to Name this deer “Obsession” after being obsessed with this buck of a lifetime all summer!
