How Much Are License and Tags in Ohio?

  • Non-Resident Hunting License: $180.96
  • Either-Sex Deer Permit: $76.96
  • Total Cost: $257.92 (allows you to harvest one buck or one doe)

Ohio remains one of the most affordable non-resident hunting destinations in the Midwest, offering competitive license and tag fees.


Are Ohio License and Tags Sold Over the Counter?

  • Yes! Licenses and tags can be purchased over the counter or online.

  • No Lottery Required: You do not need to enter a lottery to hunt with us.

Can I Harvest a Doe?

  • Yes! Each hunter is permitted to harvest one doe during their hunt.
  • Opportunities Abound: Expect plenty of chances to harvest a doe during your stay only on the last day of the hunt!

Can I Visit Your Outfit During Non-Hunting Months?

  • Absolutely! We welcome visitors year-round to schedule a tour of FeatherNett headquarters.
  • What to Expect: Visit our private leases and see what makes us one of the top outfitters in Ohio.

Are the Deer Free-Ranging?

  • Yes! All of our hunts are 100% fair chase. There are absolutely no high fences on our properties.

Will I Be Fined for Shooting a Buck Scoring Less Than 125 Inches?

  • Yes, a $250 fine applies for bucks scoring under 125 inches.
  • Why the Fine? Our goal is to help clients harvest mature bucks and grow the kind of trophies hunters seek.
  • Exceptions:
    • Youth hunters are not subject to antler restrictions.
    • At FeatherNett Outfitters’ discretion, some leeway may be granted in special circumstances.

What Types of Treestands Do You Use?

  • Variety of Options: We offer a mix of treestand brands and products to give hunters a chance to try different setups.
  • Other Options: Ground blinds are also available for those who prefer to hunt at ground level.

Can I Use a Crossbow During Archery Season?

  • Yes! Crossbows are permitted during all of Ohio’s regular archery seasons.

How High Are Your Stands?

  • Treestand Heights:
    • Standard bowhunting stands: 20-25 feet
    • Ladder stands and low-hanging setups: 12-16 feet
  • Ground Blinds: Available for those who prefer hunting closer to the ground.

Can You Accommodate Handicapped Hunters?

  • Yes! We provide ATV access to ensure handicapped hunters can easily reach their blind.

Can I Use Expandable Broadheads?

  • Yes! While we prefer fixed-blade broadheads, you may use expandable broadheads if you are confident in their performance.
  • Our Request: Practice shooting regularly to ensure proficiency.
